Four Mile House is a View Royal pub with a great history/story.  It’s always clean and inviting.  Not a huge breakfast menu but if you like eggs, it provides enough of a selection.  I enjoy coming here any time of the day, but dreary days are the best as it’s sooo cozy!

As this is my first review, I’d love to hear what I could include (or not) that would make it better in the future. You can include your feedback in the comment section below.

Best breakfast – restaurant review

Four Mile House:  199 Island Hwy, Victoria, BC

Group: 3, arrived 11:45 am on May 4, pub side.

Eggs benny: Eggs done perfectly (soft), hollandaise (tasty), english muffin (wasn’t toasted enough if at all).  Came with cubed hash browns (not crispy enough and very sweet maple-like taste), a couple slices of fruit.

Other items ordered:  Farmers skillet, Vegetarian skillet.

Average price/person:  $15

Pros: Walked in and lots of seats available, food came quickly and was hot, decent portions, and we weren’t rushed out.

Cons: Even after adding a lot of salt & pepper to my hashbrowns, I couldn’t eat mine. When we mentioned to server, she shrugged and didn’t offer to do anything. That left me hungry. Didn’t offer to refill coffee very often.

Overall:  It was ok.  If you’re looking to get full, and can get past the sweet hashbrowns, at an ok price, and get in and out quickly, this is a good option.  A great option if anyone in your group wants non-breakfast type items, as the day-time (and drink) menu is large and varied.
